Infrastructure
The Copyfree Initiative is managed in a principled, but practical, manner. All materials produced under the aegis of the Copyfree Initiative, including the content and code for this site, may be freely shared under the terms of certified copyfree licenses. To the extent it is possible and reasonable to do so, the works employed by the the Copyfree Initiative in operational capacities (particularly including software) are also works distributed under the terms of certified copyfree licenses.
Technology
Content Management:
The Copyfree Initiative website runs on a custom system for content management built on Sinatra (MIT/X11 License), a web framework and domain-specific language for use with Ruby (Simplified BSD License).
Operating System:
The Copyfree Initiative website runs the FreeBSD operating system, a BSD Unix system whose primary licensing employs certified copyfree licenses for both software and documentation.
Version Control:
Both source code and documents that require version control management are stored in Fossil SCM (Simplified BSD License) repositories for development, sharing between members and volunteers, and version management.
Webserver:
The Copyfree Initiative runs on the nginx (Simplified BSD License) web server software
